The Firm
Founded in 1980 by Professor Gian Luigi Tosato, the Firm is primarily active in the areas of contract, tort, commercial and corporate law, with a particular focus on European and international issues.
Leveraging its size and the high degree of specialization of its lawyers, the Firm offers its Clients efficiency, flexibility and customised services. The Firm’s distinctive features are its professionalism, strong dynamism, agile internal organisation and high quality legal services.
The Firm’s international vocation has been one of its defining traits since its foundation. All the Firm’s lawyers have direct international experience, matured studying, working, and conducting legal research abroad. This critical mass of transnational knowledge and experience has enabled the Firm to develop a unique know-how to assist Italian companies expand internationally and international companies enter the Italian market, as well as counsel Clients grappling with international contracts and international trade more generally.
Among its Clients, the Firm counts both Italian and foreign corporations.
Reflecting its international propension, the Firm has established distinct teams of lawyers each of one is responsible for managing Client relationships in different jurisdictions, including Spain and Latin America (Spanish and Latin American Desk, since 1983), People’s Republic of China (Chinese Desk, since 2003) and Turkey (Turkish Desk, since 2005).
The Firm has its head office in Rome and a subsidiary in Milan. Coextensively, it has crafted a robust network of correspondent lawyers throughout other Italian cities, and has also established key relationships with leading law firms abroad to assist its Clients internationally.
The Firm is a founding member of IURISGAL, a network of high-quality law firms spread across many countries worldwide. The firms belonging to this network have considerable experience and prestige in their appurtenant jurisdiction. IURISGAL does not require its members to exclusive liaise with each other.
